Sisters in Crime Desert Sleuths Chapter Announces its 2017 Anthology SoWest: Killer Nights

ANTHOLOGY TITLE: SoWest: Killer Nights

THEME: Murder After Dark. Suspense/thriller tone. A murder or potential murder must occur and a major scene must happen at night. The setting is, of course, Arizona. These are high tension stories set in Arizona that can include stalkers, serial killers, chases, anything that reeks of danger and the threat of death.

SUBMISSION FORMAT: 3500 to 5000 words. Use Times New Roman or Georgia in 12 point font. Double spaced with paragraph indents. Only use .doc or .rtf format (not.docx). These are blind submissions, please only put your name on the first page. Subsequent pages must be numbered.

QUALIFICATIONS: You must be a 2017 member of Sisters in Crime national and the Desert Sleuths chapter. Only members are eligible and this will be strictly enforced.

SUBMIT: The deadline is Midnight, January 28, 2017* (Deadline Extended). Email your properly formatted submission to our anthology coordinator, Margaret Morse, at <maggiecallison@yahoo.com>. You may submit up to 2 stories, but if both are selected, only one of them will be included in the anthology (author’s choice).

AUTHOR COMPENSATION: Ten dollars ($10) or one (1) copy of the printed anthology.

PUBLISHING RIGHTS: DS Publishing, on behalf of the Sisters in Crime Desert Sleuths Chapter, retains the first publishing rights and non-exclusive worldwide printing and electronics rights to the accepted stories. The copyright remains with the author.

PUBLISHING FORMAT: The anthology will initially be published in print with copies available for authors to purchase and give as gifts. Later they will be available in eBook format. Both formats will be posted on Amazon.
