LADONNA OCKINGA (Auk-en-gay) took the long-cut to Phoenix, Arizona. Born in Hastings, Nebraska, she practiced law in Dallas, Texas, for seventeen years and then spent seventeen years as an Assistant Attorney General in Phoenix. With a practice novel hidden in a desk drawer, she is now working on a contemporary suspense. A police ride-along inspired a short story "The Choking Game" soon to be published. She studied creative writing with Jim Sallis, and is a member of Sisters in Crime and the Women’s Fiction Writers Association.
